Ludhiana gets its first Nando’s

Nando's, the Portugese flame-grilled Peri-Peri chicken restaurant opens in Ludhiana. Looking at the tremendous response and demand from Punjab region, Nando's shall be in Jalandhar in the current financial year.

Nando's entered India in 2010 with its first restaurant in Chandigarh followed by another one in Bengaluru. On the expansion Vikrant Chowgule, Managing Director of Indage Group (the master franchisees for Nando’s India), said: "This is the third restaurant in India and second in this region. One more restaurant is scheduled to be opened in Bengaluru, and in the current year, Nando's would have presence in Chennai and New Delhi too.”

Nando's is an interesting blend between a casual dining restaurant as well as quick service restaurant that is known for its quality and healthy food. The core offering at the restaurant is the flame-grilled Peri-Peri chicken, besides selection of salads, appetizers, burgers, and wraps, with equally rich options for the vegetarians.

The first Nando's restaurant opened in 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa by two friends, Robert Brozin and Fernando Duarte. It is now present in five continents and 34 countries with over 980 restaurants worldwide. Nando's is present in countries like South Africa, Australia, UK, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Botswana, Canada, Cyprus, Fiji, India, Ireland, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lesotho and many more.
