Chippy Mehta is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Bombay Shirt Company (BSC), one of India’s pioneering custom menswear brands. Driven by a passion for problem-solving, creativity, and craftsmanship, Chippy has transformed a simple idea—custom-made shirts—into a scalable, design-led brand that champions individuality, precision, and personal fit. Since BSC’s inception, his role has evolved from product and operations to leading end-to-end execution, building the retail network, supply chain, proprietary technology, and digital experience with a hands-on approach that bridges factory floors and boardrooms.
Pioneering Franchise-Led Growth and Strategic Expansion
A key milestone under Chippy’s leadership has been the adoption of a franchise-led expansion model. Recognizing the capital-intensive nature of BSC’s stores, he partnered with like-minded franchisees to scale efficiently without compromising quality. This approach has expanded the retail footprint while maintaining operational consistency. Looking ahead to FY26, Chippy aims to accelerate growth—opening four to five new stores each quarter and deepening presence in India’s top 10 cities, optimizing demand and operational efficiency.
